Our Story
Mograni Creek Estate was established in 1998 with the first plantings of the Chambourcin red varietal in the beautiful Mograni Valley, just east of Gloucester. What began as a small vineyard soon expanded, with additional Chambourcin and Chardonnay vines thriving in the gently sloping, rich loam soils beneath Mount Mograni.
Over the years, the estate has grown not only in vines but in vision. Our connection to this landscape has shaped a deep commitment to caring for it. Today, Mograni Creek Estate is powered by a modern solar‑and‑battery system that reduces our reliance on the grid and supports low‑impact operations across the vineyard, cellar door, and accommodation. Water for the property is solar‑pumped and gravity‑fed, and our vines are sustained through efficient drip irrigation using dam‑harvested water — a closed‑loop approach that protects precious resources and strengthens the resilience of our vineyard.
These sustainability projects reflect the same patience, care, and respect for the land that guided our earliest plantings. The estate continues to embody the region’s natural strengths — fertile soils, clean air, and a climate perfectly suited to producing expressive, character‑driven wines — while embracing regenerative practices that ensure this valley thrives for generations to come.
Our story is one of stewardship as much as winemaking: a commitment to working with the land, not against it, and to crafting wines that honour the place they come from.
Family Owned
Mograni Creek Estate is a proudly family‑owned and operated vineyard, winery and tourist accommodation in Gloucester, NSW, nestled between the dramatic Mograni mountain ranges and the ancient Buccan Buccans on the Barrington Coast and close to the World Heritage‑listed Barrington Tops National Park, our estate blends natural rural beauty with genuine country hospitality.
Owned and run by husband‑and‑wife team Steve and Ros O’Mally, the property was purchased and re‑imagined in 2019 with a clear vision: to create an intimate, hands‑on wine and accommodation experience that reflects the character of the land and the people who care for it.
With deep roots in regional Australia — including Steve’s upbringing on a sheep and cattle station — our family brings a heartfelt commitment to sustainable land stewardship, quality grape growing, and authentic, story‑driven winemaking. Every vine, bottle, and guest interaction is shaped by their personal involvement and genuine love for the valley.
As a small, owner‑operated estate, every visitor receives a warm, personalised welcome. Whether you’re joining a private tasting, exploring the vineyard, or staying in our accommodation retreat, you’ll be hosted directly by the people who know the property best. Their border collies, Bella and Piper, are never far behind — greeting guests, guiding vineyard walks, and adding to the relaxed, homely atmosphere that makes Mograni Creek Estate so memorable.
Today, the O’Mally family continues to honour the estate’s legacy while shaping its future — crafting character‑driven wines, nurturing the land, and sharing the beauty of the Barrington Coast with our visitors.
